Beyond the Broken Bridge tells the story of a journey to rediscover identity across two cultures and two generations shaped by different life experiences, memories, and perspectives on homeland. The film explores profound psychological layers surrounding motherhood, forgiveness, emotional healing, and the reconciliation between past and present.
The film’s setting spans from Berlin to all three regions of Vietnam, where the protagonist gradually uncovers family history, unspoken silences, and enduring cultural values preserved across generations.
Joining this working delegation is an international crew featuring notable figures in the fields of creative development and film production.
Kristina Schippling serves as the director and lead screenwriter. A German philosopher and writer with over 300 international film awards, she brings significant artistic depth and a humanistic perspective to the project.
Aaron Le – Producer and Co-Founder of Cinexia Productions – is a Vietnamese based in Germany, acting as a strategic bridge between international production and the project’s long-term development vision.
The delegation also includes René von Bidisco as Production Manager, Günter Weig overseeing international communications strategy, journalist Huy Thắng, media ambassador Hanna Trần, and community collaborators based in Berlin.
After listening to the presentation and reviewing visual materials related to the film’s characters, representatives of the Embassy expressed strong appreciation for the cultural significance and community-bridging values the project embodies.
Mr. Vũ Sơn Tùng stated that the Embassy is willing to support connections with relevant cultural institutions in Vietnam, facilitating favorable conditions for the film crew in upcoming stages of production.
For Cinexia Productions, this recognition holds special significance in the journey of developing an international film that remains deeply rooted in Vietnamese identity.
We believe that cinema does more than tell a story — it has the power to build bridges between people across cultural spaces, between overseas Vietnamese communities and their homeland, and between generations seeking a shared voice.
Beyond the Broken Bridge is created with the aspiration to become an emotional touchpoint — a place where every audience member can recognize a fragment of their own memories, journeys, and identity within the story unfolding on screen 🎞️🤍
